![]() Even at that, I always use summoned arrows since they hit magic and have a +3 modifier. Check out the new Encounter Locking feature coming soon to Oakwynd TLP. ![]() It's a bit dangerous before you get SoW, but safe and works well at lower levels. You can pair a pet class (Enc, Nec, Mag, Bst) with a priest class and also do pretty dang well. Any of the listed classes shouldnt have problems grabbing groups either. Their plate armor, high damage, snares, lifetaps, and feign death make them formidable soloers. You need to figure out how to charm effectively to make it work for solo or grouping. ![]() And yet, I don't seem to see that many Beastlords. Needless to say, I disagree with everyone who says a Ranger can't solo or shouldn't use a bow. Shadowknights are exceptional tanks and have long been considered one of the best solo classes. Or, Beastlord+Cleric seems excellent as well. I think this combo would absolutely plow through dungeons. but can be used on any classic or progression EQ server to make platinum. I'm real tempted to make a Beastlord twink with a fungi tunic/staff, primals, ikatiar armor, and so on and pair with a Necromancer (both Iksar, of course). Tools for the solo ranger: Fletching- This will be a must if you want to solo. I am working on one for a ranger solo guide since I have been in the same. And their flexibility is great for boxing. This means either a progression server with Daybreak, or the oh-so shady. They are actually better than both of their parent classes at defense (higher AC cap/returns than Monks, with similar defensive skills and infinite aggro), regen spells (chloro+SP is 17 hp 7 mana/tick vs regrowth 15 hp, and Beastlords can use the fungi staff), HP buffs (Kragg + Spiritual Vigor is 620 HP vs Focus of Soul 544), ATK buffs (Savagery line is clearly better than Avatar, and it isn't on a line of easily obtainable proccing weapons) and of course their warder pets are far superior to the shaman wolves. But seriously, I really wonder how Verant ever thought Beastlords were balanced.
